Demand Creation Institute

About

Trust. Expertise. Authority.

DCI is a transformational, profitable growth system — founded in 2009 — designed to help B2B companies attract significantly more high-margin ideal customers, escape sameness, and Break from the Pack.

Philosophy

Three Force Multipliers That Drive All Engagements.

Operational Precision vs. Chaotic Waste & Rework.

Drawing on W. Edwards Deming, we know that every business is 100% perfectly designed to achieve current results. If improved results are desired, then a redesign of the ecosystem is in order.

Organizational Fitness vs. Corporate Identity Crisis.

Purpose. Core Behaviors. Mission (the short-term core strategy that fulfills the Purpose). Each lived, not laminated. Operationalized, not peripheral to the business.

Design Disproportionate Customer Value vs. Sameness.

Most often it's about excavation, not innovation or invention. Un-evening the competitive playing field—Breaking from the Pack—is the last step where we help our clients forge Category of One marketplace positioning.

Where DCI Is Positioned

Other systems offer structure. DCI makes you more valuable.

EOS gets you organized.

It tells you how to hold meetings, set goals, and manage people. Useful, but pre-AI in design, with a scalability ceiling and no enterprise-value or differentiation layer.

Scaling Up tells you what to focus on.

Strategic, but skips the precondition: who you actually are. No diagnostic tooling for the front-end drivers that determine valuation.

DCI is a transformational, profitable growth system.

Yes, you actually can have it all. Marketplace distinction can be achieved for most any business, especially in B2B, creating a 'customer magnet' that drives profitable growth (and EBITDA + enterprise value) with less reliance on tired, traditional sales and marketing hokum.

Founder and Chief Results Officer

Sean Stormes

Sean spent his first decade in business rising through the ranks of Yellow Freight System — at the time the nation's #1 LTL carrier. He became the youngest branch manager in company history and was the architect and deliverer of the organization's nationwide Deming-based Continuous Improvement effort. He wrapped up his time at Yellow turning around a large $80M annual location near Washington D.C.

Sean transitioned to small business as President and COO of an industrial supply distribution company before heading back into the Fortune 500 with Grainger Inc. There, he transformed three separate Midwestern districts serving Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri — 65 salespeople total — each team breaking year-over-year revenue growth records.

In 2009, Sean founded the Demand Creation Institute. Since then he has helped some of the Midwest's most esteemed and successful organizations defeat sameness and prosper, and was twice asked to serve as President and COO of clients.

He also penned the Kansas City Business Journal “Growth Strategies” guest column for six years before it was picked up nationally, eventually landing in 42 markets.

Today, DCI continues to flourish — launching its AI-driven platform in 2026, the Enterprise Value Multiplier.
